Our story
About Us
History
Our story starts in 2021.

Yambi Community outreach is a charity non governmental organization derived from the Rutooro word “Obuyambi” which means to give help. Yambi’s mission is to work with communities to help end period poverty in Africa.
The organization was founded in 2021 by Lisa Kanyomozi Rabwoni. From 2021 -2023 Yambi focused on causes surrounding Cancer, mental health, sexual violence and period poverty.
In 2024 however, period poverty is Yambi’s primary focus. Why? Because the girl child does not deserve to miss out on school or be ostrsized from communities due to the natural process of menstruation. As an organization we are eager to live in a country where menstrual product are widely accessible, affordable and destigmatized.
Our aim
Our aim at Yambi is to support women and girls in Uganda to overcome period poverty, through a comprehensive approach of providing sustainable products, sanitation facilities, promoting menstrual wellbeing and delivering educational programs and tools that foster a healthier, more equitable menstrual future in Uganda
Our Values
- Accountability
